#11: We'll cross that bridge when we get there š
This week, I'm sharing what I learned in the lobby of a Triple-A car care center. Also, a Trader Joe's dessert staple, too many group texts, and an ode to the best meal of the day.
Iām writing this weekās newsletter at a Triple-A care center in Atlanta. I traveled here to go to a concert with a friend and scratch my travel itch, but my engine coolant decided to, you know, not work once I crossed the city lines.
I didnāt plan to be here today. Iām in a city I havenāt visited since I was 10. I could go to the aquarium, stare at the beluga whales, play around in the famous Georgia Aquarium tunnel. Instead, Iām watching my car get hitched up and examined next to a defunct coffee maker in the Triple-A customer lounge.
My friend Margaret told me yesterday that she loves traveling with me because Iām a low-anxiety traveler. From inside my own head, Iām constantly anxious when I travel. As a person with diagnosed anxiety, there are very few times when Iām not thinking about what could go wrong.
But as I sit in this poorly-lit lobby, I think I get what sheās talking about. I know that everything will be okay. If the car isnāt safe to drive the 300 miles back to Charlotte tomorrow, Iāll just book a train ticket. If I have to stay here an extra day or two, Iāll steal my momās Hilton points and book a hotel room. (Thanks, Mom!)
My mom tells me all the time: you cross a bridge when you come to it. Worrying about something ahead of time does you very little good. Iāve crossed every bridge Iāve come to so far, so I like my odds with this bridge.
(PS: Annie from the future here. My car was just low on coolant and is running perfectly now.)

This weekās aesthetic: breakfast food
The heroine recommends: Black & whites from Trader Joeās
I tossed these into my Trader Joeās cart last minute and LOVED them. The cookies are soft and slightly lemony, which somehow works perfectly with the chocolate and vanilla icing. I used to make them all the time with this recipe, so it was definitely nice to have the cookies in a pinch.

Iām proud of you for how far youāve come. I hope youāre proud of yourself, too.
