#11: We'll cross that bridge when we get there ๐
This week, I'm sharing what I learned in the lobby of a Triple-A car care center. Also, a Trader Joe's dessert staple, too many group texts, and an ode to the best meal of the day.
Iโm writing this weekโs newsletter at a Triple-A care center in Atlanta. I traveled here to go to a concert with a friend and scratch my travel itch, but my engine coolant decided to, you know, not work once I crossed the city lines.
I didnโt plan to be here today. Iโm in a city I havenโt visited since I was 10. I could go to the aquarium, stare at the beluga whales, play around in the famous Georgia Aquarium tunnel. Instead, Iโm watching my car get hitched up and examined next to a defunct coffee maker in the Triple-A customer lounge.
My friend Margaret told me yesterday that she loves traveling with me because Iโm a low-anxiety traveler. From inside my own head, Iโm constantly anxious when I travel. As a person with diagnosed anxiety, there are very few times when Iโm not thinking about what could go wrong.
But as I sit in this poorly-lit lobby, I think I get what sheโs talking about. I know that everything will be okay. If the car isnโt safe to drive the 300 miles back to Charlotte tomorrow, Iโll just book a train ticket. If I have to stay here an extra day or two, Iโll steal my momโs Hilton points and book a hotel room. (Thanks, Mom!)
My mom tells me all the time: you cross a bridge when you come to it. Worrying about something ahead of time does you very little good. Iโve crossed every bridge Iโve come to so far, so I like my odds with this bridge.
(PS: Annie from the future here. My car was just low on coolant and is running perfectly now.)
DOโS and DONโTS:
DO: Leave yourself a gift message the next time you order something online.
DONโT: Go to bed without a full water bottle on your nightstand.
DO: Visit a museum that you havenโt seen yet.
DONโT: Skip the fresh flowers next time youโre at the grocery store.
DO: Try a new podcast this weekend.
DONโT: Hoard clothes this spring. Let go of what doesnโt fit you and make room for something new.

This weekโs aesthetic: breakfast food
The heroine recommends: Black & whites from Trader Joeโs
I tossed these into my Trader Joeโs cart last minute and LOVED them. The cookies are soft and slightly lemony, which somehow works perfectly with the chocolate and vanilla icing. I used to make them all the time with this recipe, so it was definitely nice to have the cookies in a pinch.

A parting thought:
Iโm proud of you for how far youโve come. I hope youโre proud of yourself, too.
