#18: Trust your gut 🔮
This week, we're having a hippie woo woo moment and appreciating our gut feelings. Also, a podcast I love, an ode to forest sounds, and a summery to-do list.
I’m a skeptic in lots of ways, but I firmly believe in the power of intuition. That little tug behind your belly button that pulls you toward (or away from) something, the feeling that you should take a different route home today, or the tendency to pick up your phone two seconds before your alarm sounds.
The way we separate knowledge out into the body fascinates me. The brain is the logic center, the heart is the emotional center, and the gut is the mystical, mysterious intuitive center. Our gut has information that we don’t logically understand, but we’re still called to follow it.
It’s easy to dismiss gut feelings if they don’t align with either logic or emotion. Gut feelings feel primitive and illogical like they don’t conform to standards of reason. But that’s what makes them so powerful. That’s what makes them so important.
