#22: The good kind of tired 😴

This week, we're kind of exhausted. Also, a podcast recommendation if you love silly Amazon reviews and some unexpected beach reads.

#22: The good kind of tired 😴

annieearnshaw.substack.com

I started a new job this week and my brain is tired. So tired that I get in the car at the end of the day and drive home in silence because my brain needs a little break.

And I kind of love it.

Tired is usually a bad thing. We don’t like tired. Tired is boring, sleepy, lackluster. It’s nothing special. A sign that you’ve used your energy and now have to rest. How menial.

But I like this type of tired. It’s a sign that I worked hard and paid attention. That I’m learning and growing and stretching a little. It’s uncomfortable, but being this type of tired is a sign of growth.

To-do list:

🛁 Dust something

🍜 Try one new recipe this week

💌 Write a letter forgiving someone (or yourself)

🎲 Start keeping a deck of cards in your purse

“Required” reading:

9 travel spots for first-time solo travelers (The Everygirl)

People I think about who probably don’t think about me (This Time Tomorrow)

This article recommends lots of great closet staples (Vogue)

If you’re a writer, you NEED this tool (OneLook)

10 unexpected beach reads (Shondaland)

This week’s aesthetic: lazy morning

The heroine recommends: Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet

If you also get a touch of joy when reading a crotchety review on Amazon, you’ll love this playlist. Two friends read off the internet’s most ridiculous product reviews. It’s a great easy listening podcast to have on in the background.

A parting thought:

Take some time to rest.
