Starting this weekend with a shameless brag: I got published in ALLURE šŸ„¹šŸ¾ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„ click here to check out the article!

This is my first ā€œbigā€ publication and I’m still riding the high from seeing my name on such a huge website. It’s been a massive ego boost AND plenty of motivation to keep doggedly pursuing a career in writing.

In truth I’m too excited to do a whole introspective reflection on the gravity of this moment, so let’s just be excited together xx

You’ll also notice I added some new sections to the newsletter; hope you enjoy them!

To-do list:

šŸ› Change your sheets

🧩 Start a puzzle on your kitchen table

🫶 Leave an anonymous compliment on a sticky note for a friend or coworker

šŸŽŸ Start planning a trip you want to take this summer

šŸ„– Bake something from scratch, like this mini focaccia

ā€œRequiredā€ reading:

It’s hot when people can do mental math (Bustle)

99 ways to get better sleep (The Good Trade)

27 of the best museums in the United States (Travel + Leisure)

This list of the 200 most common passwords is fascinating (Nordpass)

This week’s aesthetic: a toast!

Tote bag:

Products I’m shopping and loving this week

These refillable candles! Super easy and eco-friendly (Siblings)

A perpetual wall calendar in the most aesthetic colors (Designworks Ink)

I am FOREVER crushing on these LEGO botanical sets (LEGO)

Recipe box: easy French hot chocolate

A sweet, simple recipe for decadent hot chocolate. This stuff puts Swiss Miss to shame and takes about 5 minutes to make. The trick is to go low and slow so the chocolate doesn’t seize on the bottom of the pan.

  • 1 cup milk (or dairy-free milk)

  • 4 oz chocolate chips

  • 1 tbsp(ish) of brown sugar

  • A splash of vanilla

  • A pinch of salt

  • A pinch of cinnamon

Heat your milk, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon on medium-low until it barely starts to bubble. Add the chocolate and whisk constantly until the mixture is thick and smooth. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy.

Background music:

I’m deep into essay grading at the moment, so this ambient indie playlist is helping me power through my workload.
